Fall play review

Review of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime  The play that we watched is named The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime, and it was performed at the Black Box in Cheshire Academy last weekend ( Nov. 15th). The student director is Olivia Williamson and the major actors are Amelia Williams, Olivia Williamson, William Lempling and Pacifica Yang. The story of this play is about a boy named Christopher, who is an autistic child and wants to find out who killed the dog Willington, which is a dog from his neighbor. During the process, he finds out that it is actually his dad ED who killed the dog and this makes Christopher have mistrust on him. Notes for p94-99

I really like the ending part that says"After the curtain call Christopher returns to the stage. He gets the attention of anybody still in the audience. Even if it is just one person. He thanks then for staying." This shows that the story of Curious Incident of the Dog in the nighttime is actually a drama inside a drama, which means Christopher was actually performing a drama in this story. So the plot that we read is actually a drama that is performed in this story. I like this because it made the reader so confused and suddenly realized what happened.

One of the performances that I watched is about music. It's obvious to see that this group is focused on what impact of music on people. They have background music and an actor to shows that he's really enjoying this music. Another person is the narrator to use the poem to explain what's their performance. This is very simple and clear to emphasis on their theme. Also, it is close to our daily life. I really like Mike's acting because it really shows the mentioned by the writer, which is music can be used to express the internal emotion, whatever it is sad or joy.  One thing I think they can improve is to shows the different emotions, the author mentioned both the positive and negative emotions, they can create another scene to show the negative emotion because the author really mentioned a lot in the poem. Another performance I watched is for the Mom to Son. I watched this one because our group also work on this, and Tony's group was so different from ours. The onl...
