The song named "howlin'404" and it shows that when you find out you live in a world that makes you different from all other people, you need to howl and find out the people who are the same as you. Although the sequences might be like an error code 404, don't be afraid.

Look at the title of the song seems to imply this repeated tired life, and talk about those mistakes that he made in his life. The word howling and error code 404 create the name of this poem. The error code 404 is the page when the server cannot provide information or the server cannot respond. And the hard life makes him stuck in a loop. The whole poem reveals a state of depression for the author. From here it also shows the author can't control his own state.

 The story of this song shows the author's idea of dystopian. From the writer's (singer's) Instagram, he told the reader(listener) that the background of this poem depends on a novel named 1984. The novel establishes a dystopian world. And the author has expressed that the story of the song is about the future of the world 100 years after 1984. He also described what the world would look like to him. In 1984, the world is violent and authoritarian. People in this environment have developed an attitude that only cares about the little things, but does not doubt the whole sick world. So this writer imagined that in this situation, "the rain is falling on bad timing "and "I can't help cuz it's over." Those are the sentences in the poem, that means in this sick world, there's a sad rain falling down, which lets the author think that the situation of this world will stay what it was and can't be changed.


As we know, the howling of the wolf is an action to help them find other same kinds. And the author writes that "I'd be howlin' for ya, Before the shadows drag me under. "The reason is "Cuz when the darkness took me over, I wouldn't know what I have lost."  The person that he would howl for is the person has the same thoughts with him. It increases the sense of heaviness to the reader when we know the reason why he howls. Also, the reason is also based on the story named 1984. In the story, the main character hates the World they live, when they want to rebel against the government, they were arrested by the police.  The police tortured them for their crimes against politics. At the end of 1984, even the protagonist has made up his mind to die, he was brainwashed and eventually became a supporter of the dictator big brother, which lead to the poem about the darkness took me over.  Depends on this, we could know that the author wants to find a person that can help with each other. Sadly, from error code 404, we could know that he didn't find it.

The author told the reader at the very beginning of the poem, "if you frightened easily, turn off your radio now."  This is a quotation from a radio show named " Lights Out". It mentioned that "these Lights Out stories are definitely not the timid soul, if you frighten easily, turn off your radio now." The idea of why the author uses this sentence is not just to tell the reader the whole poem is actually talking about a scary or despairing story, is also tell them that if you cannot accept my idea about 1984 or about this poem, just turn off the radio, because I just howl for the people who can understand my idea.
